All about Australian Women
I first met Stacey O’Keeffe at the 7th birthday event for her Brisbane based magazine Fashion Weekly. Pulling off an event of this caliber is no easy task and I was very impressed with her maturity, professionalism and amazing attitude.
Stacey started as an intern with Fashion Weekly while she studied fashion design, hairdressing and small business – all at the same time. That should tell you how driven this girl is. She always knew she wanted to work in fashion from age 9 and started her own label called effeeKo in 2011. When an opportunity came about in 2011 to buy Fashion Weekly, she grabbed it with both hands and then some. Her strong work ethic and mature business-savvy is refreshing for someone so young.
Fashion Weekly is a fresh take on Style, Living and Culture and I’ve yet to see anything that compares with it in the market. If you’re looking for the same headlines you see in every other fashion magazines you will be sadly disappointed but if you are looking for unique, inspired and classy fashion and lifestyle then get clicking.
Her biggest challenges are getting new advertisers on board that she can deliver real results for, keeping up with the ever changing digital environment, staying current and finding new fresh content first in market.
She passionately believes that you can do anything at any age. Her family has been a huge support and a huge influence in her life and watching her parents run a successful business over many years was a catalyst to her own entrepreneurial drive.
Asked to describe herself in five words, Stacey very quickly and confidently answered “independent, fabulous, fierce, confident and fearless.” I can say that these traits are acutely evident when you meet her. Her passion and lust for business, fashion and life shines through in everything she does.
With a goal to build an international fashion empire, run a leading digital magazine, grow her own fashion label and create other business off shoots including an interior design business, she is a force to be reckoned with. Don’t dare try to put Stacey in a corner or tell her she can’t.
Try and I will show you a girl who says ‘Just watch me.” And she’ll do it in style.
