All about Australian Women
What was the biggest challenge you faced on your journey?
I began to monetize the site twelve months ago, and for me it is about looking after the community that I have created. It can be tricky to produce good content that has a commercial angle to it, but it is a challenge that I grab with two hands. The readership always comes first and it has been interesting to try and teach companies about that.
We are still carving out how we want to work in the New Media and I have definite ideas on how I want that to look like on WoogsWorld.
Also, it has been tres-unplesant to deal with detractors. But my skin is thicker these days.
What have been the recent highlights in your blogging career?
I have been so lucky to have done some travelling, which I adore! Spending 2 weeks in New York for Garnier Australia was the highlight of 2012. I was also shortlisted in several blogging awards, including the Sydney Writer’s Centre Best Blog award, which was pretty surprising considering the high quality blogs around.
Turning professional was a risk, but it was a case of backing myself and convincing myself that I could do it. So far so good!
What’s next for you?
I really need a massage. And at some point in the next 12 months I am going to pull my finger out and write a book.
